Lean Manufacturing Objectives

The three main objectives of Lean Manufacturing are Quality, Cost, and Delivery.

Quality:

Increasing the quality level of a production system means reducing the number of errors, repairs and rejects. The result is less unnecessary usage of company resources and therefore lower total operating costs.

Cost:

The production process inherits many costs; beginning with human resources, equipment and raw materials, all the way up to the finished product. Productivity increases when a given of resources generates more finished goods at the end of the process, or, conversely, when less initial resources are needed to yield the same volume of finished products.

Delivery:

Reducing throughtime is a goal all companies strive to accomplish: Throughtime is the time that elapses between the company acquiring raw materials and receiving payment for the finished products. Reducing this time means being able to produce more products in the same amount of time, better rotation of resources and the ability to react faster and satisfy customer needs with flexibility.

Reduce Production Line Length

A production line that is too long means more employees, additional work in progress (WIP), longer production times and higher logistic cost.

Not only does space optimization reduce these costly factors, but it also allows greater production in the same space. The result is the opportunity to make substantial savings on investment: less floor space and lower general costs.

Priority to line side productivity: the flexibility of Ecoflex enables flow rack lines to be compressed through its flexibility and easy customization.

Reduce Inventory

Carrying inventory consumes space, adds considerable logistics costs and consumes significant amounts of financial resources; assets that could be utilized elsewhere.

Used in conjunction with small containers and flexible carts and trolleys, Ecoflex marketplace racking placed in close vicinity to the line combined with Ecoflex flow racks give companies back the value destroyed by old stock management systems with traditional pallets and expensive, unsafe forklift handling.

Reduce Space

Many conventional companies use up far too much space and more personnel necessary.

Lean Manufacturing using the Ecoflex system does away with unproductive conveyors, reduces production line length, incorporates workstations into the main line, eliminated unnecessary stock and reduces the cost of logistic.

These improvements can help a company reclaim floor space for future expansion.
